Cargotec Digital Solutions Hub creates data-driven software and services for intelligent cargo handling. By using cutting-edge cloud technologies and industry best practices, we are responsible for driving digital transformation and accelerating the development of software solutions across Cargotec. Through our work we make global trade smarter and more sustainable, while securing growth of new digital business for Cargotec and its customers.
We are now looking for an experienced hands-on Cloud Architect to join us in Tampere.
You will be a senior member of our team developing digital software products for our customers and building system capabilities for various projects in the Google Cloud. You appreciate working in an international, cross-functional setup and engaging with various teams working with frontend and backend software solutions.
As a cloud expert, you thrive in using modern DevOps tools and practises to produce quality cloud native software solutions. You are able to communicate effectively when analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving issues together with developers and the stakeholders.

You master different aspects of cloud architecture and software development. You lead by example and drive the team to deliver on its goals, continuously helping improve its ways of working and coaching team members.


What you’ll need to succeed:


  • Several years of professional experience in designing and developing software in the cloud environment
  • Generic GCP knowledge
  • Experience with designing cloud architectures
  • Experience with creating cloud infrastructure as code, preferably using Terraform
  • Programming experience, preferably with Python, JavaScript or TypeScript
  • Networking understanding with routing (e.g. BGP)
  • Understanding of containerization technologies such as containerd or docker
  • Experience with GCP runtimes: Kubernetes, Cloudron
  • Experience with SQL
  • General knowledge about CI/CD pipelines
  • Proficiency with agile and lean software development methods
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Good communication skills allowing collaboration with stakeholders from various backgrounds
  • M.Sc (Eng.) or higher in Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent

Additionally, we appreciate::

  • Experience with other cloud providers, such as AWS or Azure
  • Experience with big data tooling in GCP
  • Ability to mentor other teams about software development and cloud best practises
  • GCP certificates
  • Experience with Cloud Functions, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Data Flow
  • Experience with BI systems, such as SAP
  • Experience with integrations to Data Studio and Qlik.
