VAT Specialist

The position of VAT is connected to assist in extraction of VAT data provided to the outsourcing partner Deloitte. То аssist the Team Lead in statutory auditors’ tax and statutory material requests; to support continuous development of Cargotec Bulgaria Tax and statutory set-up.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Review of processed VAT documents and assessment for correct treatment from VAT perspective;
  • Responsible of VAT G/L accounts reconciliations preparation;
  • To assist Team Lead in analysing end-to-end transaction chains in order to providing guidance/ process improvement from indirect tax perspective;
  • To perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities;
  • To prepare Ad hoc reports;
  • To extract and validate financial data for the preparation of EC sales lists
  • To extract and provide financial data for Intrastat purposes;
  • To assist in continuous improvement of Intrastat quality data input in the ERP system;
  • Maintain good working relationships within the other process teams;
  • Participate in transition activities when applicable:
  • Support the transition of processes including knowledge transfer and work shadowing;

What you will need to succeed:

  • Minimum bachelor degree in finance or business administration
  • 2-4 years of experience in accounting/ tax area
  • Basic knowledge in international indirect taxes (EU VAT Legislation)
  • Understanding of SAP main functionalities knowledge is a benefit
  • Experience with simple to mid-complex query handling
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, organisational and communication skills
  • Hands-on experience working with ERP/Cloud system preferred
  • Microsoft Office (mainly Excel, Word, PPT)
  • Taking initiative in a proactive manner to improve own and team work practices
  • Full professional proficiency of written and oral English required.
