Statutory and Tax Specialist

Based in Sofia, Bulgaria, this position reports to the Team Lead Stat & Tax and will support the US Tax Country Finance Manager with providing monthly/quarterly/annual financial data in relation to State and Local, Federal Taxes, Foreign Information Reporting, assisting in Sales/ Use tax reconciliation and other duties as assigned.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Coordinating tax and statutory outsourcing engagement from a CBS perspective
  • Coordinating that Deloitte and Country Finance Managers will receive all requested data from US tax perspective (in CBS scope) on time. Escalation point for solving issues related to data delivery
  • Responsible of Statutory G/L Sales/ Use tax accounts reconciliation for LN and SAP
  • Data provision related to quarterly US Entities State and Local financial data (SAP) for rent expenses, all revenue streams (i.e. Professional Services/ Maintenance and Support, Warranty, License, Royalty, Interest, Tangible property) and Property Tax expense, etc.
  • Data provision related to quarterly US Entities Federal financial data including Trial balances, reconciliation of new accounts, and reconciliation of domestic related party balance sheet and income statement transactions, including reconciliation of income statement by local jurisdiction, etc.
  • Data provision related to quarterly Foreign Information Reporting Company Financial data for all Intercompany transactions (payments and receipts) between US and Foreign Parties on a cash and accrual basis (i.e. dividends, interest, rents, royalties, product, licenses (intangibles), commissions, services, premiums and reimbursed expenses)
  • Payments to foreign 3rd parties and all transactions conducted in Canada
  • Data provision related to quarterly for all Non US Cargotec companies sales to into US by location
  • Responsible of escalating any issues further and providing input/comments
  • Assisting Country Finance Managers in statutory tax auditors and statutory material requests
  • Continuous development of effective US tax (in CBS scope) set-up together with internal stakeholders and Deloitte
  • Monitoring of end-to-end transaction chains and providing guidance/ process improvement in areas related to US tax activities
  • Input financial data to ERPs (e.g. SAP, HFM) as requested.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Bachelor or Master or Bachelor Degree in finance/ accounting or 5+ years equivalent work experience;
  • 5+ years of accounting/ tax experience
  • US tax experience is a strong benefit, but not required
  • Confident and outspoken approach
  • Understanding of SAP main functionalities (e.g. MM module) and other ERPs, LN knowledge is a benefit
  • Experience with complex query handling
  • Good MS-office skills, ERP knowledge required
  • End-to-end process knowledge on RTR
  • Strong team player
  • Team building and customer service attitude.
  • Problem solving attitude
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Good Interpersonal & Communication Skills
  • Taking initiative in a proactive manner to improve own and team work practices
  • International mind-set
  • Proficiency of written and oral English required
  • Experience in SSC environment considered a plus
