Senior Compliance Expert

Purpose of the position

 

The Senior Compliance Expert, Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) position will be responsible for delivering third party risk management services to ensure compliance with various internal processes and regulatory requirements.  This role will be directly involved in assessing potential and active third parties (i. e. resellers, suppliers, consultants, advisors, etc.) and customers for any integrity/compliance risks. The role will be responsible for supporting the design and implementation of Cargotec compliance program.

 

Main tasks and responsibilities:

 

  1. Support the enforcement and monitoring of the Third Party Policy and the Trade Compliance program of Cargotec by:
  • Conducting high quality third party risk assessments through reviewing documents, conducting specialized software screenings and open source searches 
  • Identifying potential integrity/compliance risks
  • Assessing accurately the risk levels and propose potential mitigation activities
  • Communicating results of risk assessments to the respective streams, committees, business process owners and various levels of leadership
  • Supporting key users of the specialized software
  • Designing of related governing documents and processes.

     

      2. Support the enforcement and monitoring of the Anti-Corruption program of Cargotec by:

  • Conducting anti-corruption risk assessments and follow up on the risk mitigation activities
  • Provide expert advice on anti-corruption dilemmas 
  • Test transactions and conduct other monitoring activities
  • Support compliance investigations, where necessary
  • Run compliance training and awareness campaigns
  • Promote culture of integrity, transparency and ethics    
  • Maintain good working relationships within the other process teams
  • Perform any ad-hoc activities as per request of direct superior 

 

All work needs to be conducted in compliance with Company guidelines, Code of conduct, policies, procedures, controls and legal requirement

What you’ll need to succeed:

 

Education

  • A degree in Law, Business Administration, Audit, Risk Management, Compliance, Finance, or a related field required

 

Competences

  • Knowledge of industry best practices in the areas of Ethics & Compliance, Third Party Risk Management and Trade Compliance, in particular database screening services and investigative due diligence research is a must
  • 7+ years relevant work experience in  the following areas: Law, Risk Management, Corporate Compliance or Audit
  • Formal Risk/Compliance management training
  • Hands-on experience working with a TPRM/database screening solutions
  • Full proficiency of written and oral English, fluency in other languages is seen as a plus
  • Very good communication and presentation skills
  • Strong customer service focus and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and organisational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure to strict deadlines
  • Display a strong work ethic and ability to comply with internal controls and policies.
