We, at Cargotec, are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our HIAB team is Sofia.


We are looking for someone who will be responsible for supporting accounting services for selected processes and countries, which include accounting for and coordination of month-end general ledger close, and preparation of balance sheet reconciliations. The role has controlling and reporting responsibilities over all processes in the end-to-end accounting: OTC, ITP, HR activities, and how they are reflected and accounted for in the books. 


This role has a functional reporting line to the Team Leader – Record to Report Cargotec Business Services in Sofia, Bulgaria and operational reporting line to Team Coordinator – Record to Report Cargotec Business Services in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Main tasks and responsibilities


  • Provide accounting services: deliver services in line with agreed controls and procedures; ensure that data is accurate in company systems; recognize unusual events and work with Team Coordinator to resolve the case; and participate in transition activities
  • Work independently with minimum supervision within a given business or region
  • Comply with internal control procedures and accounting policies in compliance with CAS; ensure all the documentation is up-to-date and accurate
  • Responsible for financial reporting operational activities
  • Take initiatives and provide support for multiple roles in the area of Record to Report
  • Participate/lead cross trainings of associates and new team members
  • Acts as primary point of contact for selected partners and/or processes
  • Any other tasks assigned by the line manager related to the areas of accountability.

What you’ll need to succeed


  • University Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in finance operations
  • Experience with simple to complex query handling
  • Full professional proficiency of written and oral English required.
  • We’re looking for someone who takes initiatives in a proactive manner to improve own and team work practices.
  • Good MS-office skills, ERP knowledge required. SAP knowledge will be a strong advantage
  • Process knowledge on Record to Report.
