US Country Finance Manager

Purpose of the position

 

Corporate Finance is looking for a US and Canada Country Finance Manager responsible for statutory, and tax compliance and lead financial services hub in Perrysburg, Ohio (Record to Report R2R & Invoice to Pay I2P). Acting as a finance partner for local management with overall country financial management responsibility.

 

This position will report to the Director, Country Finance in Finland or to the Director Finance shared services - Sofia.

 

The position will be in one of the Cargotec offices in the US (Perrysburg, OH , Streetsboro OH , Winamac IN), preferably in Perrysburg, Ohio. Remote with availability to commute to Perrysburg/Streetsboro.

Main tasks and responsibilities

 

  • First point of contact in local country tax, statutory, audit, and financial risk management-related matters
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations relating to statutory and tax compliance matters
  • Coordinating tax and statutory outsourcing engagement
  • Ensuring outsourcing partners are delivering on time and accurate tax reporting and statutory accounting
  • Managing relationships with external auditors relating to local financial audit
  • Leading the financial services teams (R2R and I2P) and act as a line manager for the team leaders
    • Supporting  the financial services team on timely, accurate and transparent IFRS reporting to group reporting in Finland
    • Cooperating with financial services team in finance services related areas to ensure efficient and high quality service including deployment of harmonized financial accounting and control procedures and processes
  • Acting as mediator between different stakeholders (corporate functions, CBS, compliance outsourcing partner, business controllers, business organization and auditors) in finance and tax related matters
  • Responsible for financial risk management, liquidity and financing of the companies together with CargotecTreasury and Cargotec Tax
  • Insurances -coordinating US risk insurance in support of an effective risk management policy with Global Cargotec Risk management
  • Advising local management in finance related questions
  • Treasury tasks; cash management, working capital management and treasury process development together with Group Treasury
  • Participating in general country management processes, if required

What you’ll need to succeed

 

Education:

 

  • University degree in accounting/finance/economics, or equal qualification 

 

Working experience:

 

  • 7+ years of experience in a relevant finance role

 

Skills and competencies:

 

  • Good knowledge of IFRS for  local statutory and tax compliance requirements
  • Organization and coordination skills accompanied with excellent prioritization skills
  • Solution-oriented mindset to identify the challenges and focus on the solutions
  • Good communication skills and willingness to communicate and coordinate with different stakeholders
  • Cooperation skills
  • Good knowledge of Cargotec’s global financial systems (SAP, HFM), Vertex, Sage, and Google
