Human Resources Trainee

Reporting to the Sr. Country HR Advisor, the primary objective for this role is to provide various administrative support HR daily activities.   If you are looking at kick starting your career in HR and getting a closer look of how our company approaches HR Services, we’d like to meet you.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Complete compliance oriented tasks including keeping track of and reporting on employee documentation, benefits and payroll.
  • Maintaining working knowledge of Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
  • Provide support on contractual requirements.
  • Interact with HR Services for FMLA & Short Term Disability verification of approvals & submission, usage of hours and need for interaction with 3rd party vendor.
  • Submitting and tracking work related injury claims, follow up appointment and updating EHS & Supervisors.
  • Submit updates to HR Services for hourly employee data changes into HRIS systems and review to maintain data integrity. Provide regular and ad hoc reporting and analyses.
  • Administer Health Insurance plan (enrollments, terminations, billing)
  • Continuously seek to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of core human resources processes
  • Additional miscellaneous Human Resources tasks (i.e. billings, purchasing cards)
What you’ll need to succeed:
  • Associates Degree in HR – HR Certification or equivalent experience
  • Experience as an Administrative Assistant or similar Junior HR role is a plus
  • Experience working with a CBA is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of HR practices, HR policies and procedures
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems
  • Sound judgement and problem-solving skills
  • Customer focused attitude with high level of professionalism and discretion
  • Good communication skills
  • Detail orientated
  • A successful candidate will have above all else, a can-do attitude and the ability to approach challenges with enthusiasm and tenacity.
  • Willing to take on new tasks
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft office and G-Suite software.  MS Excel & Google Sheets
