Cargotec Business Services (CBS) was established in 2017 with Sofia, Bulgaria as the main global hub and two regional hubs in the United States and Singapore. The Singapore hub supports countries located in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. Its aim is to optimize the global business support processes of Cargotec within Finance, Human Resources and Indirect Procurement.

As we embark on CBS transition in the APAC region, we are searching for a CBS Country HR Manager, Australia to provide local operational support for the various business units and legal entities on HR issues and initiatives. The Country HR Manager will act as the primary interface to the local line managers, HR Business Partners and CBS HR Services teams. This position will be based in Australia.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Provide local HR support to the line managers
  • Provide advice to line managers on employee performance management and development matters
  • Manage employee relations issues and ensure compliance to company HR Policies and local regulations
  • Work with providers for benefits including but not limited to pension, healthcare and insurance to ensure cost effective and high standards of service delivery
  • Drive implementation of regional and global HR initiatives in country  
  • Develop, harmonize, update and implement local HR initiatives and processes including but not limited to payroll, pension, insurance data protection and ensure compliance with local legislation
  • Responsible for blue collar recruitment (as appropriate)
  • May be responsible for leading and managing a team of HR advisors based in different locations in-country.
What you’ll need to succeed:

The ideal candidate should be highly collaborative with ability to build trust and maintain good relations and co-operation with all key stakeholders, such as local Management teams, CBS team, local regulators and other external parties. Capable, confident, positive, committed and results oriented, he/she should be able to multi-task effectively. Some business travel may be required.

Ideally you should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university
  • At least 10 years of generalist HR experience in a multi-national company
  • Strong knowledge and experience in key HR processes
  • Strong problem solving and influencing skills, and able to manage stakeholders effectively
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Independent worker who has the ability to work and deliver results with minimal supervision.
