Cargotec’s highly acquisitive business is going through business wide growth and is looking for a new member to join us as a Manager, Internal Controls. The successful candidate must show strong analytical and communication skills, be comfortable doing hands-on work, strongly detail-oriented and disciplined in completing work assignments, and ready to thrive in a collaborative environment. Your main responsibility as a Manager, Internal Controls will be to support the Director, Internal Controls in the development and implementation of Internal Controls at Cargotec and its Business Areas.


The Head Quarter office is based in our site at Helsinki, Finland, but Kaarina and Tampere are other possible locations.


Main tasks and responsibilities


  • Support the Director, Internal Controls in the development and maintenance of Cargotec’s Controls Framework, including defining control objectives into control procedures
  • Work with businesses and functions in embedding the Internal Controls in processes documentation e.g. process flows, standard operating procedures, working instructions, etc. Implementing best practices in controlling standards, ways of working and controlling automation
  • Develop and support implementing internal controls within assigned businesses/ functions/initiatives
  • Execute on the identified priority areas in conjunction with businesses and key process area stakeholders
  • Agree road maps for progressing on identified priority areas/gaps. Monitor Business Areas  and Functions’ preparation of gap analysis and roadmaps, support those falling behind
  • Lead and collaborate within and outside the IC team to develop and implement various Control Function related activities.

What you’ll need to succeed




  • Master’s degree in business, accounting or other relevant field of study (e.g. Certified Internal Auditor) 



  • 5+ years of relevant experience as Finance, Internal Control or Audit professional
  • Strong interpersonal skills and problem solving skills. Experience in managing complex initiatives
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers and capable of making presentations to a variety of constituents in a clear, concise, compelling fashion
  • Internal Audit and Sarbanes-Oxley knowledge is an advantage. 



  • Fluent in English both written and spoken
  • Proficiency in MS Google Suite and SAP 
  • International mindset
  • Limited travel (i.e. 5-10%) - process and control related workshops.
