The Director, Change Communications is in charge of driving Cargotec’s internal dialogue. 

You will lead engagement, dialogue and internal communications activities in the company, ensuring alignment with the organization’s overall goals and contributing to strategy implementation through communications.  In conjunction with senior management and internal and external business partners, you will play a central role in evolving Cargotec’s internal dialogue. The role reports to Cargotec’s SVP, Communications and works collaboratively across all business areas and with different stakeholders and is based in our headquarters in Helsinki. In addition, you will collaborate with leaders within different Industries, and work across operating companies to develop and execute best practices.

The Director, Change Communications is a member of the Communications function management team and actively collaborates with all levels of the organization and key individuals in order to strengthen the company’s change communications approach. 
 


Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Developing, managing and promoting a comprehensive, long term change communications approach and dialogue for Cargotec 
  • Serving as a spokesperson, first point of contact and internal ambassador in the area of change communications and internal dialogue at Cargotec 
  • Engaging, cultivating and managing change communications to ensure desired outcome 
  • Leading, guiding, supporting and sparring managers and other key stakeholders in planning and executing change communications activities 
  • Responsible for maintaining the crisis communications preparedness and developing it according to needs. 
What you’ll need to succeed:


We are looking for both a team leader and a team player who is committed, energetic and results-oriented - a senior communications professional with a passion towards change, people and culture. 
As a person you’re self-reliant, result oriented and have the ability to make decisions in a changing environment as well as anticipate future needs. You also have the intelligence to grasp complex issues and keep up with the pace of change in the company and industry. 
 

Ideally you have:

  • A Master’s degree
  • Eight or more years of relevant experience of internal dialogue and driving engagement in a large corporate setting
  • Persuasive written and oral communication skills, including public speaking, presentations and facilitation skills.
  • Excellent influencing and team skills with the ability to work efficiently with wide network and experience working with and influencing senior company leadership on projects that involve the development and execution of new company-wide initiatives
  • A versatile background in communications with emphasis on B2B is appreciated, as well as a track record in leading change communications activities. 
  • Experience either in an in-house communication role or within a communication agency. 
  • Ability to demonstrate and apply effective internal consulting skills
  • Proactive problem solving attitude and willingness to do also hands-on work
  • Agile mindset for continuous improvement as well as team lead experience
  • Fluency in English and preferably close to mother tongue level of Finnish
  • Experience from listed company communications is considered an advantage.
