R&D Mechanical Engineer

Purpose of the position


To be part of Bromma Singapore R&D Team. Collaborate with R&D team in Sweden and Malaysia in conducting development and applied research activities to improve and generate new products, subcomponents, features and processes for Bromma spreaders and other future products.

Main tasks and responsibilities


Research of New Ideas

  • Undertakes research, generate and conceptualize new ideas, concepts, solutions and product improvements from user, production, quality and cost aspects within the port & cargo handling industry
  • Developing product concepts that are innovative, high quality, cost effective and take into account stakeholders’ (customer, manufacturing, material and etc.) needs and requirements throughout the entire product development cycle


Development of the Approved Projects

Follows established guidelines, best practices and procedures to

  • Perform early draft design by applying systematic and analytic method of problem solving to make technical decisions that are safe, functional and validated.
  • Building mock ups and proof of concepts and delivering prototypes, collaborating with stakeholders’ by selecting components, procuring or fabricating and hands on assembly.
WE expect from you



  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent 


Preferred Career Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years’ of relevant experience in Mechanical R&D
  • Experience from Port/Crane/Cargo industries is advantageous


Technical Skills

  • Strong 3D CAD design expertise (Autodesk Inventor)
  • Applied mechanical engineering and good design practice


Soft Competencies

  • Highly independent and self-driven
  • Effective communication in written and verbal
  • Team player
