Supplier Quality Lead

Purpose of the position
- Drive and support QSR supplier claims
- Demand, analyse and follow up on corrective actions from suppliers
- Lead, contribute to and participate in Global SQA
- Drive all SQE-related activities and NPI/NPD processes
- Be the technical focal point for supplier activities directed towards process control and quality assurance plan (QAP)
- Work with supplier development for new supplier quality compliance audits and qualifications
- Interface with suppliers and supply chain to drive quality improvements
- Scope training needs for SQE / IQC
- Ensure CAPA cycle time meets KPI
- Receive, analyse, identify recurrence issues, and escalate to engineering or sourcing for corrective plans
- Prepare supplier scorecard, lesson learn, QBR
- Responsible for supplier escalation process
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Work closely with Sourcing, Business teams, and Engineering to eliminate roadblocks and communication barriers that may affect quality requirements
- Manage and/or provide progress plans with low-performance suppliers, in the development phase, in collaboration with the commodity buyer and supplier development
- Monitor the Production Part Approval process before transfer to the plant and the actual handover to the plant SQ Engineer
- Follow proper escalation process when informed of supplier red flags
- Ensure supplier respond 8D on time and effective countermeasures have been deployed
- Ensure QSR on supplier component failures / warranty being responded to, and CAPA in place to prevent reoccurrence
- Coach, mentor for Supplier Quality Team
What you’ll need to succeed
Education
- BS/BA or Diploma
Experience
- Technical field experience in mechanical, fabrication, customer quality with at least 8 years of practical experience
Skills
- Strong attention to detail, an ability to multitask, and an ability to work independently and in a team
- Strong interpersonal skills
Competencies
- Understanding of Quality Tools
- CQE certification is a plus
- Computer literate with good presentation skills
- Good command of English
- Good communication skills
