Bromma is looking for a Field Service Engineer.  Based out of the Miami, Florida office, this position will work close to and dialogue with our sales organization and customer base.   The Service Engineer will work in coordination with the agents that we have in the region, and reports directly to the Field Service Coordinator.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Providing timely diagnosis/repair and regular preventative maintenance to the Bromma Kalmar product lines, utilizing hand, air and electric hand tools
  • Communicate with customer to determine equipment problem and, when necessary, travel to customer location to make adjustments/repairs on units
  • Respond to warranty claims.  Keep records of warranty repair costs and monitor expenditures carefully to keep expenses within budget
  • Perform the commissioning of new equipment into service.  Insure that equipment is operating according to specifications.  Train the customer to operate the equipment.  Provide the customer with equipment service manuals and other materials according to contract specifications. This includes the preparation and updating of PowerPoint presentations that will be used for training customers
  • Test and repair Bromma spreaders where needed
  • Maintain follow up with the customer to provide additional information or to resolve problems
  • Relay design or functional problems identified in field operations to Engineering.  Relay information concerning customer needs and problems to Sales and Engineering and assist with current production projects as needed
  • Assist in processing Warranty orders including customer contact, order entry, processing and follow-up until completion.  This includes becoming proficient with BROMMA’s QSR system
  • Program and test Electronic Equipment for Spare Parts or Warranties
  • Install software upgrades in field
  • Assist as needed with Spare Parts issues

What you’ll need to succeed:


  • Commercial or Technical background
  • Minimum requirement high school diploma
  • Preference will be given to those with advanced Mechanical, Electrical, or Software degree and/or training.




  • At least five (5)  years of relevant business / product experience with background in the following disciplines/systems
    • Electronic / Electrical
    • Mechanical
    • Hydraulic
    • PLC’s
  • Experience in electrical, controls and hydraulic systems, preferably within an industrial or maritime related industry.
  • Knowledge of PLC's with ability to understand & read ladder logic and function block diagrams.
  • Knowledge working with 480VAC power and control circuits, including maintenance experience.
  • Electrical diagrams and schematics understanding and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with mechanical & hydraulic systems maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Experience performing upgrades and modifications to equipment.
  • Knowledge in commercial and/or large electronic equipment a plus


  • Ability to understand electrical, mechanical, and electronic/computer hardware functionality, and use knowledge to troubleshoot equipment.
  • Ability to accurately read and understand complex electrical diagrams, and make corrections as necessary.
  • Thorough understanding of all technical issues involving the maintenance, repair, and/or installation of company equipment, software and upgrades.
  • Must be capable of using Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
  • Customer Service: Customer service skills play an important part. This includes use of telephone and email.
  • Ability to write excellent work reports in English and Spanish
  • Ability to coordinate and run projects efficiently with customers, agents and other Field Service Engineers.
  • Ability to listen, communicates clearly, and works well with others

  • Willingness to travel both domestic and internationally as required.

  • Candidates must have a Valid Driver’s license, and be able to obtain a TWIC card and Waterfront pass.
