Purpose of the position

 

  • Software development related to product development, improvement and order design.
  • Support the production in terms of Bromma CSP / CME spreader product line.
  • Plan resources and support electrical engineers in their tasks.
  • Develop the team and their competences.
  • Take part in and contribute to the research and development plan of the product business lines (CSP).
  • Develop new solutions according to internal or external customer requirements.
  • Take one or more key responsibilities within the R&D strategy roles and competence areas.
  • Interact internally with sales, product managers, production, sourcing and customer engineering.
  • Interact externally with customers on a global level.
  • Work directly with other engineering disciplines to establish product concepts, perform design verifications, carry ideas through final product design and rapidly respond to design changes.
  • Work towards product design improvement QSR (related to Engineering Change Request ‘ECR’ process).
  • Order design management.

 

Main tasks and responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for new software development related to product development, improvement (QSR) and order design.
  • Evaluate product performance based on customer point of interest.
  • Perform product configuration reviews and provide feedback and advice in terms of design feasibility, available offerings as well as solutions for non-existing options.
  • Support projects to enhance, or cost reduce, designs that will involve: components analysis, component testing and qualification to numerous standards, control system and electrical system performance analysis.
  • Meet established deadlines.
  • Work independently but must be a team player that can contribute toward improving design practices, product line growth and product knowledge transfer.
  • Must be able to manage multiple concurrent assignments to meet established deadlines.
  • Assist R&D global team to review prototype performance in terms of testing and research & development.

 

What you’ll need to succeed

 

Education

  • A relevant Degree in Software/Electrical/Control Engineering discipline

 

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of applicable working experience with relevant electrical/control feedback loop design work

 

Skills

  • Knowledge of software (preferably CoDeSys, Siemens PLC)
  • Familiar with programming languages;
    • IL (instruction list)
    • ST (structured text)
    • LD (ladder diagram)
    • FBD (function block diagram)
    • SFC (sequential function chart)
    • C++
    • C#
    • Python
    • Javascript
  • Familiarity with international electrical standards would be an added advantage
  • Good understanding of basic Electrical and Electronics
  • Communicates well in English
  • CE compliances
